What Is DoxyPEP?
DoxyPEP is a way to help protect yourself from certain bacterial STIs after sex. It stands for doxycycline post‑exposure prophylaxis - basically, taking a one‑time dose of the antibiotic doxycycline within 72 hours after sex to lower your chances of getting syphilis or chlamydia, and in some studies, gonorrhea.

DoxyPEP has been shown to reduce the risk of bacterial STIs - especially for people who’ve had an STI in the past year and want extra protection.

DoxyPEP doesn’t protect against HIV, herpes, HPV, or pregnancy - so condoms, PrEP, and regular testing are still important tools.
